Come enjoy the beach! This sunny split level beachside beauty surrounded by lush tropical landscaping in the exclusive resort area of Pirates Beach on Galveston Island's West End is just what you need for a getaway. All you need to do is bring your food, clothes and suntan lotion.

We have a fresh new interior design accented by nautical colors! Enjoy a unique floor plan, perfectly designed for groups or families with children with 4+ bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The house can comfortably accommodate 13 guests (with a maximum occupancy of 17 if you utilize all the convertible sofa/futon beds). There is enough parking for four cars in the driveway. Great location! Close enough to the Gulf for ocean breezes - and only a five minute walk to the protected neighborhood beach! This beach home is less than a 10 minute drive (8 miles) to the hustle and bustle of Galveston restaurants and shops and just under an hour to downtown Houston.

Come enjoy the clean and airy rooms, the peacefulness of the three large decks and verandah (four of the five bedrooms overlook decks or verandah) and lush landscaping of the large fenced-in garden complete with outdoor shower, ample seating and a grassy yard for children to play. The covered verandah and pavilion style pergola are cool areas even under the mid day sun. The game room is a perfect distraction. The upper decks are perfect for star gazing after a long day on the beach.

In the gourmet kitchen with granite island serving bar and oak cabinets you will find a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and an ample supply of serving dishes, pots, pans, utensils, glasses, and flatware for everyone. You can use the countertop for casual dining for four or for serving to the dining room table that seats 6. A picnic tables outside on the lower level verandah seat over a dozen people and the chairs on the 2nd floor deck are also a wonderful spots to enjoy a meal. All you need to provide are the ingredients to create and serve fabulous meals.

Bring your young children - Mutineer Landing is child friendly! A high chair and portable crib are available on request. The home is equipped with a game room and a washer and dryer. There is lots of shade on the verandah under the second floor rear deck for play during mid day sun or even rain.

Unusual for beachside homes, this home features an oversized fenced yard with lush landscaping. Enjoy the sounds of the ocean breeze as it blows through dozens of tall palm trees, oleander and hibiscus. The large covered deck which runs across the entire front of the house is perfect for al fresco dining or late night conversations. Take your morning coffee up to the upper deck and energize yourself with ocean breeze and a bird's eye view.

After a fun day at the beach enjoy the outdoor shower to wash the sand off and then enjoy some time in the game room or a soak in the hot tub spa on the first floor deck while the charcoal fire is heating up in the BBQ grill!

Need some other activities? Golf? Swimming Pool? No problem, the Galveston Country Club is only two blocks away and we can provide you access upon request.

Absolutely No Pets and No Smoking.

A word about smoking and deposits: This beach house is our home away from home and we spend a lot of family time enjoying it. We are VERY SERIOUS about our rental policy. Also, this is not a bare bones beach house, it is very much our home, so please understand the $500 cash deposit will not be refunded until we have had an opportunity to check the house for damage.

Galveston occupies a 35 mile island off the coast of Texas. This beautiful island offers some of the best weather Texas has to offer. It is constantly a winter favorite among tourist who wants to escape freezing temperatures for a more temperate winter. There are 32 miles of pristine beaches for you to enjoy, whether it be lying underneath an umbrella sipping on a cocktail or wading in the beautiful waters, these beaches are perfect for a fun filled beach vacation. We love staying in vacation rentals by owner and hope you will too!

We have posted photos of some of the bedrooms and bathrooms. These will be supplemented from time to time so please check back.

On the second floor you will find a large nautical inspired living room with all the electronics you need - cable TV, VCR, DVD, and stereo with CD - plus some movies for you to watch. The fully stocked kitchen opens to the dining room and living room. The counter seats four and the table seats an additional six people. There is one large bedroom with a queen size bed and an en suite full bathroom, a second bedroom with two pyramid bunks (each has a twin bunk on top and a full size futon bed below), and a second full bath. The living room sofa pulls out to form additional sleeping for two. Also on this floor are a utility room with a full sized washer/dryer, and two large decks, one in front (covered) and one in the rear (uncovered) of the house. The front deck has a private nook with a spa hot tub. There is an interior and exterior staircase that leads to the third floor.

Upstairs on the third floor you will find a large master bedroom with a private deck, and a small fourth room, a sleeping den, with a futon bed that sleeps two. It is also a great place to grab a book to read out on the deck. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed and a convertible full sized futon bed for two. There is a full bathroom with a jet-spa bathtub accessible from two doors so it is easily shared by both the two upstairs bedrooms.

On the ground floor you will find a bedroom/game room suite with a separate entrance so it is removed from the main part of the house. This suite is equipped with a pyramid bunk bed that sleeps three plus a convertible futon bed for two, if you need it. The game room overlooks the verandah and the lush landscaped fenced in garden beyond. This bedroom has its own full bath. Climate in this room is controlled by an AC window unit, a separate dehumidifier and a space heater, thus this area can be independently controlled (the rest of the house is controlled by central AC and central heat). The game room has cards, board games, and darts. It does have a TV and a DVD player. Feel free to bring your video games to hook up to this TV for rainy day fun. On the ground floor you will find picnic tables on the deck and verandah that seat over a dozen people and a hot tub.

Rates include linens and a basic cleaning at the conclusion of your stay. Country Club access can be arranged.

The following are not included in the rental rate: 1) Taxes (such as the 15% tax assessed by the State of Texas for hotel occupancy) and 2) the $500 refundable deposit (refunded once we confirm that there is no damage to the house).

Please note that we prefer weekly Sunday to Sunday rentals during the peak season.

Reservations

Please feel free to check our online calendar for availability.

Your reservation is not confirmed until we provide you with a written confirmation depending on availability after we receive both:

a completed application/agreement (request one via email)

complete payment including a rental rate, a refundable deposit of $500 and 15% tax. Payment can be made via check or Paypal (if reservation is made within 30 days of arrival date). Please email us to request an invoice for the dates requested.

If your reservation is made fewer than 30 days prior to check-in, it must be paid in full plus taxes in addition to the $500 refundable security deposit by using a credit card over PayPal. The renter will incur any fees assessed by PayPal. All other reservations must be paid in full 30 days prior to check-in.

Checks are accepted for reservations made prior to 30 days before check in. Returned checks will not be redeposited and incur an inconvenience fee of $50.

We do not provide travel insurance, although it is recommended.

Cancellation Policies

In the event that a reservation has to be cancelled, this must be done in writing. It is the guests' responsibility to verify that we have received the cancellation notice. Every effort will be made to re-rent the cancelled period. If the period is re-rented and confirmed, the amount paid will be refunded, less a $75 cancellation fee. If we are unable to re-rent the canceled period, money paid will be forfeited.

This property has certain rental policies, terms and conditions and a violation of any of these will cause the security deposit to be forfeited:

We are only able to rent to those over the age of 25.

A maximum of 17 guests are allowed on the property.

This is not a party house! No prom, college or church groups aged under 25 even with adult supervision! No bachelor/ette parties.

Signed Rental Agreement required.

Add 15% State Hotel Occupancy Tax to above rates.

$500 Refundable Security Deposit required to hold dates and cover for any damage or violation of rental agreement.

Payment in full of the reservation amount is required 30 days before check in.

In the event of cancellation, a refund of the advanced rental deposit will be made only to the extent that a tenant can be found to occupy the vacated time reserved.

Galveston is an island 33 miles long, just off the coast of Texas. The island is tropical and warm most of the year with the beaches being the main draw, and a fantastic preservation of history a close second.

Family attractions include Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, historical sites including "The Strand" (which is a shoppers heaven) and turn of the century historical landmark homes, golf courses, and a long calming seawall walkway great for strolling, biking, jogging, and fishing.

Shopping on the Strand area, which dates back to pre-1900 times or touring the Elissa, both bring a refreshing look at Galveston's history. You'll enjoy it all: From the space science tours of nearby Johnson Space Center to simply reading a book while lying in a hammock. From birding, deep sea fishing to surfing, sailing, shopping, eating!

Why Stay in Pirate's Beach?

Pirate's Beach is one of the nicest neighborhoods on Galveston's West End with its wide streets and well manicured lawns. Here you will find many high end homes in a safe and secure subdivision along the beach. Pirate's Beach is unusual because of the emphasis on a massive dune restoration project and also a prohibition against cars on the beach. You will not see cars speeding down the beach here as you do on other Galveston beaches.

Additionally, because Pirate's Beach is closer to the Seawall, you will not have to fight the traffic that plagues the subdivisions farther west on Galveston Island. You can spend more time enjoying your vacation and less time on the road when you want to go out for dinner, a day trip to Moody Gardens or Schlitterbahn, or if you need to grab something at the store in town. Alternatively, if you wish to leave your car behind, there is a general store, cafe and restaurant and Country Club with swimming pool and golf only two blocks away.

Mutineer Landing is an easy five minute walk (approximately 500 yards) down the quiet neighborhood road to the beach.
